Carlton was born and raised in Southern Louisiana on a large farm in the heart of Cajun Country. He attended Mississippi State University majoring in business and baseball. Once leaving, he began a career in professional baseball, was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies and began his climb through the minor leagues. During the summer of 1998, Carlton realized his dream of playing Major League Baseball and in the fall of 1999 was traded to the San Diego Padres. During his time in San Diego, Carlton met his wife Cathy. Unfortunately, injuries have taken their toll and Carlton is excited about beginning his second career!

Carlton's wife introduced him to Jackson Hole in the fall of 2001 and he fell in love with the area. Being an avid outdoorsman, he loves everything the mountains have to offer from hunting, fishing & snowmobiling to the many other outdoor activities. "I couldn't find a better place to call home. "
